How to Prepare for Your Photoshoot
March 5, 2025

Before we even meet for the session, I stay in close contact with my clients – we go through all the details together.
I want to know what your expectations are, what kind of images you’re dreaming of, and the story you want to tell. Based on that, I suggest styling ideas, the mood of the shoot, and sometimes offer new, creative solutions. All of this is to make sure you feel comfortable and that the photos truly reflect who you are.
Planning your photoshoot and wondering how to prepare? Whether we’re meeting in the studio or outdoors – a few simple tips can help you feel confident and look your best. Here are some heartfelt, practical tips from me to you!
1. Choosing your outfits
It’s a good idea to bring 2–3 outfit options.
Avoid big logos and very bright colors – classic, neutral tones always work best. If the session includes your family, try to coordinate colors so everything looks cohesive.
For a fine art session: elegant dresses, lace, and flowy fabrics work beautifully and help create a timeless, dreamy look.
2. Hair and makeup
A light touch of makeup and styled hair makes a big difference – even natural makeup enhances your features and gives a fresh look in photos.
If possible, consider visiting a makeup artist or hair stylist beforehand.
3. Before the session: rest, hydrate and… relax!
Get a good night’s sleep, drink a glass of water before leaving the house, and most importantly – don’t stress.
You don’t need to be “photogenic” – that’s my job: to bring out your beauty and capture you at your very best.
Extra tips – depending on the type of session:
Studio session:
• Bring a clean pair of shoes (if we’re doing full-body shots).
• Choose clothes that don’t wrinkle easily and don’t leave marks on your skin.
• My studio is fully equipped – you’ll have access to a bathroom, mirror, and a space to change.
Outdoor session:
• Bring a coat or shawl – it might come in handy between shots.
• Wear comfortable shoes for walking between locations – we can always change into fancier ones for the photos.
• If it’s a family session – pack a drink, a snack, and maybe a small toy for your child, just in case.
And finally: trust me, enjoy the process, and be yourself.
The most beautiful photos happen when you feel relaxed and natural. I’m here to take care of all the details and create something truly special – just for you.
